What is Chronic Disease?


Chronic disease is a long-lasting or recurring condition such as arthritis, cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, leukemia, or obesity. People with chronic disease often suffer from multiple disease conditions, develop secondary health issues, and live with daily activity limitations.

Chronic disease afflicts almost one out of every two adults. Nearly 70% of all deaths are attributed to five chronic diseases - heart disease, stroke, cancer, COPD and diabetes. Chronic disease affects everyone.
